My health has continued to deteriorate after being in ICE detention several years ago, where my appendix exploded while in custody. It has been months since I was released, but my health has not recovered. Last month part of my toe was amputated because of diabetes and I hit rock bottom emotionally and spiritually. After my surgery as I laid in the hospital bed I went into a deep depression, then I started talking to my neighbor in the bed next to mine. He told me that his right eye was going to be removed and that he had just found out that he had a late stage cancer. After hearing how bad he had it, loosing my toe felt minuscule and I snapped out of my deep depression and got ready for my next challenge in life. What I learned is that no matter how difficult the challenge someone somewhere has it more difficult. So I’ll stop complaining and give thanks for what I have. Thanks 🙏🏽 🙏🏽🙏🏽 - A.J. Sanches

Mi salud ha continuado empeorando después de estar detenido en ICE hace varios años, donde tuve una perforación de apéndice cuando estaba detenido. Han pasado meses desde que fui liberado pero mi salud no se ha recuperado. El mes pasado parte del dedo de mi pie fue amputado por diabetes y me dio un bajón fuerte emocionalmente y espiritualmente. Después de mi operación mientras estaba acostado en la cama del hospital caí en una fuerte depresión. Empecé a hablar con mi vecino de cama. Me contó que le iban a sacarle el ojo derecho y que se había enterado que tenía cáncer avanzado. Después de escuchar que mal tenía las cosas mi vecino, perder mi dedo del pie se sintió minúsculo y salí de mi grave depresión y me prepare para la próxima etapa de mi vida. Lo que aprendí es que no importa que mal lo tengas, los retos de alguien en alguna parte son más difíciles. Entonces voy a parar de quejarme y voy a ser agradecido por lo que tengo.
